Data Loss Prevention
One of the keys to keeping data safe is knowing what you have and knowing it is stored in a location that is appropriately secured.
The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) service allows departments to scan university computers and servers to detect sensitive data such as Social Security numbers and credit card numbers. If we know where the data is stored, we can determine if the location is appropriate for the data's classification and better secure it if necessary.
DLP is available for both Windows, macOS and file shares. Data Loss Prevention can impact Risk Management Standards and Requirements DAT 1.6.1 and 1.6.2.
